Congratulations to everyone in the McWilliam’s winemaking family for nabbing accolades in Matthew Jukes 100 Best Australian Wines! Now in its 12th year, the celebrated guide also singles out McWilliam’s as one of only seven wineries to appear in every single 100 Best List since inception.

This year two McWilliam’s brand wines were recognised for their exceptional character and flavour. The 2014 McWilliam’s Appellation Series Tumbarumba Chardonnay, was described as crisp with a refreshingly twerky palate even more polished and transcendental than its landmark inauguration last year. Also featured was the 2014 McWilliam’s Appellation Series Canberra Syrah, remarkable for its blackberry purity and pepper perfume which Jukes has called even more action-packed than last year.

At a group level, McWilliam’s Wines Group Ltd owned 10% of the top 100 wines this year with a total of 10 wines under the McWilliam’s, Mount Pleasant, Evans & Tate and Brand’s Laira portfolio receiving recognition. This has also put McWilliams’s in the top 40 among the 213 different wineries have appeared on the list.

One-hundred and thirty-five years ago McWilliam’s pioneering spirit led to the development of some of Australia’s premiere winemaking regions and today, we’re proud to carry on that tradition by highlighting the diverse and distinct wines of Canberra, Tumbarumba and beyond. With love and respect for the land, our long-term view to winemaking and expert regional knowledge are still helping us craft award-winning wines.

Thanks to Matthew Jukes for recognising our hard work and excellence in the Australian wine industry and congratulations to all!
